The annual Madera District Fair will be held on September 4th through September 7th. The Fair grounds are located at Hwy 99 and West Cleveland Ave. The time schedule is: Thursday and Friday, gates open at 5 PM and close at 11 pm Saturday and Sunday, gates open at 3 PM and close at 11 PM Friday "student Day" gates open at 9 AM |

The SJV Paleontology Foundation was formed in 1994 when a million-year old Columbian Mammoth tusk was found as workers were scraping dirt at the Madera County landfill in Fairmead. |

On Saturday, April 5th, Foundation President Terry Dolph and VP Grady Billington went for a plane ride with Ron Brown and Duane Burns. People at the Fairmead Landfill must have been wondering why an airplance kept circling ahead. The SJVPF was taking video and digital pictures of the landfill and surrounding area for planning purposes. The Madera Fossil Discovery Center is comming. |
